Robert Henricksen is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Lucas Lepri. Robert began training Jiu Jitsu in Youngstown, OH in January 2005, earning his black belt in November of 2017. Robert has competed through the years in MMA and BJJ and has had much success in competition. He continues to test himself in competition at the highest level.
Robert began training in martial arts at the age of 10, studying Tang Soo Do in Juneau, Alaska under Bruce and Karen Massey. In 2004, Robert moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico and would travel to El Paso, TX to train Judo under Sensei Hayashi at Hayashi’s Dojo. This is where he was introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, for the first time. He moved to Youngstown, OH in 2005 where he began his Jiu Jitsu journey and fell in love with the art/sport.
In 2008-09, Robert moved to Las Vegas, NV to train at Xtreme Couture. During his time there Robert worked with many high level MMA fighters and Brazilian JiuJitsu practitioners, gaining much valuable experience. But, alas, Las Vegas and Xtreme Couture was not home so in 2009 Robert returned to Youngstown where he resumed his training and competing
In 2015 Robert opened Monarch Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy and has been sharing his extensive knowledge of Martial Arts with the people of the Shenango Valley ever since.
